Threads Expands Keyword Search Feature To Include India and Other Countries

Meta continues to focus on Threads, its X competitor, and this week rolled out a “keyword search” feature in several countries, including India. The option is available both on mobile and online. Meta recently started testing the feature with Australia and New Zealand. .

Along with India, the company rolled out the feature in Argentina, Mexico, the UK and the US.

“Today, we’re rolling out keyword search in English and Spanish in countries where the most people post in those languages — such as Argentina, India, Mexico, the UK and the US — on both mobile and web,” Meta said. in a blog post.

Meta also said it is “working to bring the feature to other languages and countries as soon as possible.” Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg also shared the development in a Threads post.

“Adding to most English and Spanish speaking countries today. More coming soon,” he said.

However, Threads has been on a steady decline since peaking at around 50,000 daily active users on Android devices worldwide in early July, and now stands at around 10 million.

According to the digital intelligence platform Likeweb, the numbers are less than a tenth of Twitter users. According to Zuckerberg, more than 10 million people joined the social media app within seven hours of its July 5 launch.

Threads became the most downloaded non-gaming app in its first day in 10, according to market intelligence provider Sensor Tower, surpassing 100 million users.

The report also noted that Threads users spend just 2.4 minutes a day on the app, down more than 80 percent from its peak in early July.
